Tor Hatch is a much-loved family home and has been in the O’Hea family for three generations. It is a welcoming and easily managed house with an eclectic collection of wonderful art and sculpture, each with an interesting story to tell.

Life tends to centre around the large kitchen with the constant warmth of the AGA, panoramic views across the Surrey Hills from the kitchen sink, and cosy Snug with TV and wood burning stove. Large double doors open straight onto the magnificent orangerie – a light, spacious room with a long oak dining table – which can extend to seat 14 - 16. There is an additional seating area around a realistic gas log fire. Whatever the weather this balmy space is a delight to be in uninterrupted 270 degree views of the North Downs which never fail to lift the spirits!

Linking from the orangerie is the drawing room – a calm comfortable space decorated in a neutral palette – a perfect place to retreat to watch a movie on the large flat screen TV or to curl up with a book in front of the log fire. The reception areas flow seamlessly into one another making Tor Hatch House a perfect spot for larger gatherings where people have the option to be together or find peaceful corners to relax in. Board games and an extensive, eclectic collection of books will mean you might never want to leave.

Comfortable beds are one of the owner’s priorities, so expect to slumber on downy toppers with crisp white bedding and cosy duvets. All rooms have blackout roller blinds tucked behind full length curtains.

In the summer months, after a dip in the pool, enjoy “al fresco” eating at the pool house,before a knock-up on the tennis court (functional throughout the year). In the summer, the extensive vegetable garden is full of produce for you to enjoy and the hens should be producing plenty of fresh eggs too.
